WILLIAM "BILL" SCHULTZ, of Julesburg, passed away on October 30, 2022, at his home.
Bill was born on July 13, 1953, to Leonard and Mildred (Dittmar) Schultz. He graduated from Julesburg High School with the class of 1972.
Bill worked for several years at the Krueger Filling Station before taking a position at D&L Meats in Ovid. He worked for D&L for the better part of thirty years and deeply enjoyed the friendships he made over that time. Bill also enjoyed hosting at El Alegra in Ovid for a season of life. Bill was a hard worker throughout his life, but in 2018, his health necessitated a slower pace of life, and he retired.
In his retirement, Bill loved to make his rounds about Ovid, visiting and keeping up with friends. He had a giving heart and a dry sense of humor that was endearing.
Bill had a great affection and love for his sisters and always cared about what was going on in their lives. That love spilled over into the relationships he fostered with his nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful uncle. Bill also proved to be an excellent caregiver to his parents in their later years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his sisters Margaret (Richard) Lauer of Merino, CO, Wanda (Marvin) Trennepohl of Julesburg, Patty (Kurt) Gaertner of Potter, NE, Maureen Christensen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Memorials are suggested to a memorial in Bill's memory for later designation by his family. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsjulesburg.com, where the services will be streamed live.
