Vivian Lucille Wood, 92, of Julesburg, passed away January 10, 2022, at the Sedgwick County Nursing Home in Julesburg.
Vivian was born on April 16, 1929, in Spencer, Nebraska, to Virgil and Augusta (Otto) Farlin. She graduated from Springview Nebraska, high school. She then taught in country schools in Springview and also Big Springs.
On August 29, 1949, Vivian married Robert "Bob" Wood at the United Methodist Church in Big Springs, Nebraska. They were married for 69 wonderful years. Their union was blessed with four children, Marcia, Brent, Barry and Melissa. The couple remained in the Big Springs area where they raised their children.
Vivian was a woman of excellence. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed music performed by her children and grandchildren. Holding her babies and grand babies. Helping Bob with gardening and canning. Baking cookies, cakes, and pies. Long walks with friends and loved ones. Evenings with family usually included popcorn, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and an occasional "fierce" game of scrabble. She loved attending church, and her love and faith in the Lord were important to her.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Bob and son Brent.
Survivors include her children, Marcia (Ray) Palser of Andover, KS, Barry (Ann) Wood of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Melissa (Jim) Grogan of Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren, Kristen Palser, Mindee (Marc) Rowan, Brian (Amy) Palser, Emily (Matthew) Wheeler, Sarah (Mike) Premich, Elizabeth (Andy) Sutter, Rachel (Mike) Armon, Isaac Wood, Erin, Joseph, Suzanana & Vivian Grogan; great-grandchildren, Shelby (Christian) Yost, Colby (Kelley) Rowan & Carlee Rowan, Jude, Ruby & Max Palser, Sophia, Mitchell, Eva, Eleanor, Luke, and Mae Vivian Wheeler, Penelope and William Premich, Lincoln & Callahan Sutter. Four brothers, Leslie (Bev), Stan (Lois), Donald & Ivan Farlin. Brother & sisters-in-law, Ed & Shirley Wood, Mary Krems & Naomi Wood.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God church in Big Springs with Pastor Ray Palser officiating. Inurnment will be in the Big Springs cemetery.
