Shalon Elaine Morales

SHALON ELAINE MORALES, 39 of Julesburg, CO, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at UC Health in Aurora, CO.

Shalon was born on February 8, 1987, to Kenneth and Selina (Howell) Peterson in Aurora, Colorado. She attended school in Sterling, CO, and graduated from Sterling High School in 2005.

She loved stuffed animals. As a child, there was barely room for her in her bed because of the overwhelming number of stuffed animals.

Shalon had a passion for reading at a young age that carried over into adulthood, leading her to enjoy writing in her journal.

She appreciated a good puzzle; she often saw life as a puzzle, always searching for the missing piece. Shalon had a dry sense of humor-thanks, Dad. Sunflowers were her absolute favorite.

Shalon will be missed by many-she didn't like the word " goodbye "; it was see ya later.

Shalon is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Selina Peterson, and her children, Emiliano Morales of ND, Aiden, and Penelope Dilley of CO, and one brother, Jaron Peterson of FL.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene Barnett and Elaine Howell, and Keith and Caroline Peterson.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Nail officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
