Richard H. Landwehr

Richard Landwehr, 85, of Julesburg, Colorado, passed away at his home on September 3, 2026, in Julesburg, Colorado.

Richard was born on December 3, 1940, in Elgin, Illinois, to Henry Landwehr and Edith Parquatte. He was raised in Illinois and completed 8th grade.

On September 8, 1965, he married Lynda Strand in Illinois. The couple lived in Illinois until 1974, when they moved with their five children to Boulder, Colorado. Richard worked for the City of Lafayette as a mechanic. They later lived in Louisville before settling in Julesburg in 2006.

Richard enjoyed working on almost anything- mowers, cars; it didn’t matter; he would get it running. In earlier years, he loved camping, spending time outdoors, and attending family events. He especially enjoyed time with his family, traveling, and riding a motorcycle with his wife as part of a motorcycle club. He also enjoyed gambling trips and taking trips with family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lynda; children, Tammy and James; sister, Shirley; and a grandson, Jonathan.

Richard is survived by his sons, David Landwehr, Tim Landwehr, and Mike Landwehr; his grandchildren, Jillian, Jody, Brian, Cody, Jamie, Mike Jr., Donnie, Tessa, Jessica, and Timothy; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Danny Strand, Pete and Deb Oehler; and many other relatives and friends.
