September 18, 1931 — February 3, 2023

Norma Jean "Sally" Skoglund, 91, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on February 3, 2023, at Centura St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.

Sally, daughter of Floyd D. and Mae E. (Barry) Rowson, was born at her grandparent's farmhouse southeast of Sedgwick, Colorado, on September 18, 1931.

She graduated from Sedgwick High School, where she participated in the play "Little Women" and in Christmas programs at Country school 83. She also played the clarinet. She went to college in Greeley, Colorado, for two years.

On May 25, 1952, she married Bennard J. Skoglund. They lived south of Big Springs for eight years, where three of their children, Micki, Brenda, and Ben, were born. She helped start a New Women's Club and invited the new teachers and newcomers that came to Big Springs.

In 1960, the family moved to Denver, Colorado, where her fourth child, Lanette, was born. Sally was a homemaker and enjoyed painting landscapes and people. Other talents included sewing, knitting, crocheting, making porcelain dolls, and silk flower arrangements. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed weekly Bible study and bridge club.

On her birthday in 1985, at Bible study, she asked Jesus to come into her life, to forgive her sins, and be her Lord and Savior. Her life changed by knowing the Holy Spirit would lead and guide her through the rest of her life.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She was known for her faithfulness, love, warmth, kindness, and generosity. Her sweet spirit will live on in the memories of those who were blessed to know her.

Survivors include her children, Micki and husband Paul Jerothe, Brenda and husband Kevin Carney, Ben and wife Lori Skoglund, and Lanette and husband Glenn Vogel; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Lori Hobelman and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bennard, her parents Floyd and Mae Rowson, and niece Lisa Hobelman.
