Nora Gusman, 90, of Ovid, Colorado, entered into eternal life on November 22, 2024.
Nora was born on November 11, 1934, in Coahuila, Mexico, to Ignacio Nuncio and Louisa Garcia. At a young age, she moved to Ovid, Colorado, where she spent much of her life.
Nora married Ross Gusman on May 22, 1956, and together they built a life rooted in family, faith, and service. She worked for years as a cook at the Sedgwick County Nursing Home, where her love and care were evident in every meal she made. Nora was also deeply involved in her church community, serving in hospitality and overseeing church meals for many years.
Nora's life was marked by her love for her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply. She also found joy in flowers and her steadfast devotion to God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Ross Gusman Jr; sisters, Magda Contreras and Elsa (Ralph) Davila.
Nora is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ross Gusman; her children, Moses Gusman, Bob Gusman, and Nora Pearl Best; Kathy Nail; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, Viola Cortez, Saul (Yolanda) Nuncio, David (Pat) Nuncio, and Sam (Reynalda) Nuncio, Elizabeth (Gene) Conroy, Naomi (Dennis) Rivera; brother-in-law, Ezekiel Contreras; along with many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Ovid Cemetery on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Mark Baker. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Julesburg.
