KENNETH EDWARD BIEBER, 87 of Julesburg, CO, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at UC Hospital Authority in Aurora, CO.
Kenneth was born on August 4, 1938, in Loveland, Colorado, to Rudolph and Marie (Moore) Bieber. Kenneth attended school in Sedgwick, Colorado, and graduated from Sedgwick High School in 1956.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959.
After returning to Sedgwick, Kenneth worked at the Sugar Factory in Ovid and took on various odd jobs. Eventually, he joined the Sedgwick County Road and Bridge department, where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 1998. Following his retirement, Kenneth spent many years as the groundskeeper at Hillside Cemetery.
Kenneth married Alta Christine Dickinsen on June 10, 1962, at the Lutheran Church in Lodgepole, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Debbey, and raised their children on the farm just south of Julesburg, CO.
Kenneth enjoyed collecting various antiques. He spent most days in his two workshops, where he worked on small motors, golf carts, and lawn mowers. He loved to tinker with paint and create yard ornaments. While he enjoyed gardening, he wasn't particularly fond of other yard work, especially when it came to dealing with weeds. Kenneth and Alta preferred to handle their own home maintenance, and they even shingled their house together.
Kenneth and Alta loved to travel, and their memorable trips to Hawaii to visit Debbey and her family were a highlight of their adventures. One of Kenneth's favorite destinations was Branson, Missouri, where he made several visits. He always looked forward to summer trips with his mom and sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alta, sisters Dixie Grasz and Shirley Bieber, and brother Fredrick Bieber.
Survivors include his son, Kevin Bieber (Lori Shino) of Sterling, CO; daughter, Debbey (Gregory) Coleman of Charlottesville, Virginia; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Alan Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at 9:00 am.
