Judy Lorraine Cichy

Judy Lorraine Cichy, 81, of Julesburg, Colorado, passed away on September 17, 2026, at Sedgwick County Nursing Home in Julesburg.

Judy was born April 8, 1945, in Kitsap County, Washington, to Frank and Mary (Sherman) Merrick. She married Anthony "Tony" Edward Cichy in 1964. They were blessed with 4 children, Mike, Glen, Danny, and Tina. Judy and Tony spent most of their lives in the Western United States, where Tony was a carpenter and electrician.

Judy was a homemaker through and through, and she truly dedicated herself to making their house a home. She never held a driver's license, and she never needed to; her world was her home and her family. She loved to fish alongside Tony, and the two of them spent many quiet hours on the water. She had a creative streak that came out in her crafting, her gardening, her flowers, and the canning she put up from what she grew. After Tony passed, Judy moved in with her son, first to Fargo, then to Blair, and finally to Julesburg, where she spent her last years close to family.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tony.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Jolene) Cichy of Tacoma, Washington; Glen (Kris) Cichy of Big Springs, Nebraska; Danny (Wendy) Cichy of Washington; and Tina Ringo of Utah; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 10:30 am at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Julesburg with Pastor Alan Harris officiating.

No interment of cremains is planned at this time.
