John M Ramirez, at the age of 70, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2021, in Greeley, CO, were he lived. He was born to Juan and Viola Ramirez on July 21, 1951, in Julesburg, CO. He believed that God was watching over him all his life with the help of his Guardian Angel, his baby brother who passed before John's birth.
John lived in Sterling for several years and was involved in Boy Scouts as a child and as an adult. He was a member of The Artist Guild and Ft Wicked Muzzleloaders. John was an artist. He made beautiful jewerly working with metals, silver and gold. He was extremely innovative and creative as a gunsmith, knife maker and bow maker. For over three decades he traveled to gun, art, and craft shows, including Sugar Beet Days. He had a passion for shooting, hunting and the outdoors. Additionally, he loved to share his stories!
John was exceedingly proud of his family. He was a father figure to his niece and nephews. He poured endless love and devotion to them and their children. John placed no value on appearance or status. He saw beyond labels and stereotypes. He was a true Gentle Man. He was considerate, kind, and showed respect to all. John will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of John's life will be held in the summer of 2022 at a time to be announced later.
