Clinton L. Brown, Sr, 78, of Big Springs passed away surrounded by loving family on September 9, 2024, at Ogallala Community Hospital. Cremation was chosen and there will be a graveside service held at Big Springs Cemetery on Tuesday, September 17 at 10:00 A.M. with Joseph Peck officiating. Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Julesburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
Clint was born on January 2, 1946, to Everett and Lucille (Hansen) Brown at Lewellen, Nebraska. He joined a family that would eventually include ten children. He attended and graduated from Big Springs High School, class of 1964. In August of that same year, Clint was drafted into the Army and served his country for nearly 2 years.
After his honorable discharge in March of 1970, Clint met his first love, Kathleen. The two would eventually marry and their union was blessed with 20 years and 5 children. Clint was a diesel mechanic and shop manager at Bosselman's Travel Center for decades. He loved to work on things, he could fix anything and was always tinkering. We hold fond memories growing up, everyone calling dad "MacGyver".
In 2001, Clint met a woman from Germany called Brigitte Cleveland. The two were perfect for eachother in every way and spent 23 amazing, love-filled years with her. They enjoyed living a simple, yet meaningful life together as the best companions one another could have asked for.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Clinton Brown II and Brian Brown; daughter Shanna Brown; brothers James, Donald and Stan Brown; sisters Lois McCombs, Virginia Cavanaugh and Anne Farrier, as well as a treasured brother-in-law, Gary Farrier.
Clint is survived by his life's companion Brigitte Cleveland; son Christopher Brown; daughter Tamara Kizer; the mother of his children Kathleen Brown, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
