Ysabel "Smiley" Martinez

Ysabel "Smiley" Paz Martinez, 79 of Julesburg, passed away November 20, 2018, at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO.
Smiley was born November 5, 1939 in Seguin, Texas to Ladislado and Maria (Paz) Martinez.
On August 17, 1967 Smiley married Sara Alejos in Sterling, CO. The couple made their home and built their lives in Julesburg. Smiley worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 25 years and retired in 1992.
Smiley enjoyed hard work, music, and most of all his family and helping others. He was a member of the Julesburg Christian Church and the former Spanish Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Sara of Julesburg; son, Christopher and (Danielle) Martinez of Johnstown, daughter, Sally Martinez of Julesburg, daughter, Susan Martinez of Salt Lake City, UT; granddaughter, Dominica Cassilas of Julesburg, grandson, Edward Pacheco of Salt Lake City; and many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory for later designations. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsjulesburg.com.
Services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Julesburg Christian Church with Pastor Alan Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Julesburg. Visitation will be on Friday, November 23, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home in Julesburg.
