She was born into a big family, including siblings John Albert, Doris Margaret, Jack Logan, Betty Joyce Biggs; and brother James Clinton Easter; all enjoyed singing a cappella harmony when they were home.

Virginia married William "Bill" Glen Stierlen on October 9, 1943 in Ogallala Nebraska. Virginia and Bill moved to Sedgwick, Colorado in 1945. In 1949, they moved to their home place, Rocky Hills Ranch. To this union, three daughters were born----Anita Joyce, Linda Gayle and Ramona Faye. Virginia was a farmer's wife, bucket calf feeder, homemaker, loving Mother, Grandmother and teacher. Her family was essential as shown by Virginia and Bill's annual hosting of the "Stierlen Thanksgivings" consisting of x-large family get-togethers, initially started by Anna and Bill Stierlen.

She enjoyed music all her life. Virginia had a deep faith in God. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Sedgwick, Women's Association and sang in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Rebekahs, Hill and Vale Club, helped with the war effort with construction of ammunitions at the Sioux Depot in Sidney Nebraska. Throughout her life, she used her loving personality to teach at several country schools. Virginia's favorite activities were sewing, making quilts. reading, playing scrabble (especially earning those fifty points) pinochle and bingo.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and Step-Dad, her beloved husband "Bill" and all her siblings including Paul (Lucille) Biggs, Doris, Jack Biggs; Betty (Whitey) Shirley and brother James (Charlotte) Easter.
