Sharon H. Skrdlant

August 13, 1937 — September 5, 2022

Sharon (Sherry), H. Skrdlant of Ovid, Colorado, died the morning of September 5, 2022, in Holyoke, Colorado. She was 85 years old and had been residing at Regent Park Nursing and
Rehabilitation in Holyoke, Colorado.

Sharon Kay Hudson was born on August 13, 1937, to Dorris Jeanne (Cloud) and Lloyd Maxwell Hudson. The couple would later divorce. On February 2, 1942, Dorris would marry Charles Franklin Woodhams in McCook, Nebraska, adding his daughter, Leanna, to the new family. They resided in Ovid, where the girls attended and graduated from Ovid High School. Sharon was very active in all school activities, especially band, and cheerleading. She began playing the piano when she was seven years old and continued playing most of her life. She won several awards and played for many weddings and funerals. She played for the Christian Church in Julesburg on occasion and for the Ovid Methodist Church, where she had been baptized and was a member. Sharon attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, and later earned a certificate on December 16, 1959, from the University of Colorado Extension Division for Bookkeeping for Small Businesses and Farmers.

On January 29, 1956, she married Donald Duane Krause at the Ovid Methodist Church. They had two daughters, Colleen and Cindy. The couple would later divorce. On February 16, 1963,
Sharon and Stanley Lee Skrdlant were married in Sidney, Nebraska. They added two more daughters, Leslie and Charlene, to the family. The couple lived in Nebraska, Wyoming, Kansas, and Texas but would live most of their lives in Ovid, Colorado.

Sharon was a homemaker, but she worked many secretarial jobs, including at Safflower Technologies, Hughes Land and Livestock, Inc., Great Western Sugar Company, and the Sedgwick County Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed dancing with Stan, puzzles, crossword books, game shows, antiquing, and good friends. She was an avid bowler and belonged to Sorority. She was the accompanist for many school recitals throughout her children's school years. She loved her family, but her passion was music. When you hear music or a song that touches your heart, let it remind you of her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Skrdlant, and her mother and stepfather, Dorris and Charles Woodhams, her father, Lloyd M. Hudson, stepsister and brother-in-law, Leanna and Hugh Appleby, and in-laws James and Alice Skrdlant and Doris Cronk.

She is survived by her four daughters, Colleen Cirbo, Cindy Krause, Leslie (Brian) Abbott, and Charlene (David) Turner; grandchildren, Craig (Brenda Brown) Cirbo, Matthew (Ashley) Cirbo, Kelly (Danna Karlson) Cirbo, Kayla (Scott) Beets, Kyle Lineberry, Cody Lineberry, Collin Ellis, Hawk Turner, and Fox Turner; great-grandchildren, Madison and Harris Cirbo, Ashlyn Beets and Hudson Beets (due December 2022); and other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on September 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Prairie Hill's Funeral Home. A luncheon at the Hippodrome Arts Centre will follow the service. Inurnment will be later at the Ovid Cemetery.
