Mary Lee Stutzman

Mary Lea (Steward) Stutzman, 88, passed away peacefully at her home on November 21, 2020. She was surrounded by her family.

She was born February 17, 1932 in Greeley, Co to Leslie Herbert Steward and Mable Etta Steward. She grew up on the farm with 8 brothers and sisters. After living a wonderful life on the farm, Mary pursued a career in bookkeeping. While building her career, she started a family. She was blessed with three beautiful children, a son and two daughters.

In May of 1959, she married the love of her life Dale Stutzman. She and Dale then build a life in California. There she owned and managed a 7-11 store for many years. She and Dale enjoyed playing golf, going out to fancy dinners, and spending time with family. Years later she then retired and moved to Montana. During her retired years she loved knitting, playing bingo and spending time with her family and grandkids. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Stutzman, parents Leslie H. Steward and Mable E. Steward, 7 siblings Verna, Vera, Flora, Eunice, Howard, Robert, Charlie and grandson Adam R. Cole.

She is survived by her brother, Harvey (Lou) Steward, son, David (Sally) Shepherd, daughters, Vicky (Shepherd) Cole, Kathy (Marc) Oren, grandkids, Chad (Nora) Shepherd, Shane (Ali) Shepherd, Marjorie (Jack) Dennison, Jesse Shepherd, Nathan (Megan) Oren, William (Elizabeth) Oren, great grandkids, Janny (Philip) Elkins, Logan Dennison, Johnathon Cole, Everett Oren, Tate Oren, Alex and Audrey, great-great grandkids, Taryn Amiln, Aspen Elkins, Dusti Elkins.

We Love and Miss You Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma!

Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Mennonite Cemetery at Chappell.

Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Julesburg is in charge of arrangements.
