Freda Lorraine "Ash" Lanckriet was born on June 10, 1930 to Frederick and Irene (Lucas)
Ash. She grew up on the family farm 12 1/2 miles south of Ovid. She attended Miller
School District 3 through the eighth grade and graduated from Julesburg High School in
1948. Freda married Francis "Jiggs" Lanckriet on November 7, 1948. To this union ten children
were born, four died at birth. Over the years Freda held various jobs and most enjoyed working as a telephone operator and sheriff's office dispatcher. She had many interests and talents. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, home improvements projects, gardening and genealogy. Freda was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed keeping in contact with family via Facebook and email.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Irene Ash, husband
Francis "Jiggs" Lanckriet, son Bernard, infants at birth, Baby Boy, Eddie Lynn,
Jeanna Marie, Ann Marie, brother Frederick, sisters Ruth (Raymond) Andersen
and Evelyn Schriver, and son-in-law Dee Peyton. She was also preceded by in-
laws Julia Blochowitz Stretesky (George & William), Hank (Irene) Lanckriet, Albert
(Ruby & Mary) Lanckriet, Edmond Lanckriet, Martha (Albert) Neubauer, Margaret
Frank Jones (Frank & Harold), Donald Lanckriet, Clarence (Donna) Lanckriet,
Fred Lanckriet, and Darrell Zimmerman.

Freda leaves behind sons Larry (Connis) Lanckriet of Weldona, Jim (Vickie) Lanckriet of Julesburg, daughters Carol (Doug) Schiel of Ovid, Barb Peyton of Ovid, Sharon (Kenny) Dillie of Sterling, brother Richard "Dick" (Phyllis) Ash, daughter-in-law Marcia, sisters-in-laws Joyce Ash, Polly Zimmerman, Babe (Donnie) Phelan, Margaret Lanckriet, Arlene Lanckriet, and Janie Lanckriet. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nine great-
grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Prairie Hill Funeral Home in
Julesburg at 2 p.m. with Pastor Alan Harris officiating. Following the service, cake and ice
cream in celebration of Freda's 91st birthday will be at D&J Cafe. Burial will be at sunset
that evening at Hillside Cemetery in Julesburg.

Memorial donations may be given to the Animal Clinic for Spay Day in Julesburg or
Adopt-A-Dog in Chappell, NE. in lieu of flowers.

Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Julesburg has been entrusted with arrangements. There will
be a livestream video of Freda's Celebration of Life for those unable to attend.
