Elaine M. Scheele

April 26, 1923 — August 13, 2022

ELAINE M. SCHEELE, 99 of Julesburg, CO, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Sedgwick County Nursing Home. Elaine shared her long eventful and happy life with her large family and friends. She was known for her smile and her positive grateful spirit. All those touched by her life are saddened.

Elaine was born April 26,1923 in Dix, NE to John & Emma (Benson) French. She was the middle child with an older and younger brother. She graduated from Dix High School.

In 1942, she married the love of her life Dean L. Scheele. They took over his family's farm where they raised their two children. In 1987, they moved to Loveland, CO after Dean suffered a stroke. She became his caregiver. They loved the beauty of the area, visiting the parks and lakes. Her goal was to make each day a good day and that she did. Of course, the highlight of their lives was visits from their grandchildren.

After Dean passed away in 2003, she remained in Loveland. To her family's delight, she agreed to come live with her daughter and her husband in 2014. She often said she wished she had done that sooner because her life was filled with love. The grands would pop in all the time to work a jigsaw puzzle and get a Hershey Kiss and a hug from "Grammy". Earlier this year, she moved into the Nursing Home, but the visits, hugs and contagious smile continued.

Elaine was blessed with 2 children -Deanna (Bob) Biesecker, Lonnie (Cathy) Scheele. Seven grandchildren, Twenty-one Great Grands and Two Great- Great Grands. Plus Nieces and Nephews and many friends.

Those who preceded her in death were her parents, husband and brothers James and Gordon and their wives and niece Billy Jo.

A celebration of her life will be held this Fall.
