CONNIE K ROBER, 66, of Sedgwick, CO, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Sedgwick County Hospital in Julesburg.
Connie was born October 3, 1954, at Julesburg, Colorado, to Minoru "Minn" and Delma (Donaldson) Kinoshita. She graduated from Revere High School with the class of 1972.
Connie worked at Hirsch Construction and later Simon Contractors on bridges and irrigation projects. She eventually went to work at The Cage in Ovid for several years, often working at Great Western Sugar in the off months. Connie subsequently worked at Davis Motors before taking a job at the Sedgwick County Hospital. Her career at the hospital spanned nearly thirty years.
On December 25, 2000, Connie married her longtime love, George L. Rober, in Las Vegas. Their union brought together a family of four children, Justin, Mathew, Shawn, and Tanya.
Connie didn't mince words. She found it better to be direct with people than suffer the consequence of silence, and she was honest, perhaps to a fault. This didn't garner frivolous friendships, but perhaps the respect from the people around her. She was sharp and had a fantastic memory. She also had a mischievous sense of humor. When Connie was mad, it was best to avoid her wrath. For all Connie's strong character, she was exceptionally generous with her time and volunteered countless hours at the Fire Department and as an EMT for over twenty years.
Connie was an excellent seamstress, but her favorite pastime was perhaps spending time in her yard and garden.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bonnie Zeigler, Monty Kinoshita; and a niece, Lynelle Nelson.
Survivors include her husband, George of Sedgwick; children, Justin (Amanda) Price of Sedgwick, Mathew C. (Alissa) Price of Petaluma, CA, Shawn (Theresa) Rober of Sedgwick, and Tanya Rober-Tenane of Denver; grandchildren, Bolton Price, Kalea Rose and Ellie Cole Price, Cody Rober, Cade Rober, Randi Rober, Lelli & Rory Tenane; sister, Lonnie (Bill) Palser of Julesburg; sister-in-law, Gena Kinoshita of Sedgwick; nieces & nephews, Tyler & Bobbi Burkholder, Boone & Bodie Burkholder, C.J. Zeigler, Liberty Nelson, Jeremy & Brandi Bailey, Shawn, Maggie, & Porter Bailey, Troy & Chastity Kinoshita, Alexa Rae, and Rylee Ann Kinoshita, Nori (Ashly) Kinoshita; a very special friend, Roger Munson; along with many other relatives and good friends.
A memorial has been established in Connie's Memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsjulesburg.com.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021, at 10 am at the Sedgwick Cemetery. Please wear casual clothes.
